One person has sustained critical injuries whilst twenty others have sustained various injuries after a head on collision on Inanda Road near Bassas hardware Newlands, Durban just after 9pm tonight.
Rescue Care paramedics arrived to find the entire roadway obstructed. Multiple patients were found in the vehicles and on the sidewalk. More resources were immediately called in to assist with the mass casualty incident. A triage was done and it was determined that one patient had sustained critical injuries whilst twenty other had sustained various injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Once all of the injured had been stabilized the injured were transported by various ambulances to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required.
It is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
