M7 Pinetown crash leaves two injured

Two people were seriously injured after two cars collided along the m7 near the Winston Churchill off ramp this afternoon at around 12h30. A report from the scene indicates that a bakkie collided into the rear of the car while traveling towards Durban, the Polo then overturned and came to rest on its side with the occupants still trapped in the wreckage.

Netcare 911 paramedics and their rescue unit arrived at the scene and found the two occupants to have sustained serious injuries. While the rescue officer used the Jaws of Life to free the injured from the twisted frame medics had to clamber into the vehicle to stabilise the injured.

After they were extricated and skilfully immobilised on a trauma board paramedics transported them to a local hospital for the care that they required.
