Swift action by Germiston Detectives after tip-off foils planned robbery

The swift reaction of the Germiston Detectives foiled a planned robbery leaving five suspects behind bars.

Police received information of a planned business robbery at Elandsfontein. Germiston members waited for the suspects who were travelling in a minibus taxi on Meyer Street and the armed suspects were stopped during a roadblock in which all five suspects were arrested.

Police recovered 3 firearms, ammunition and a police wallet. The suspects will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
