A 19-year-old man is in a critical condition after his car hit a tree early this morning in Eeufees road in Northridge, Bloemfontein.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrive on scene and found a light motor vehicle had been crushed against a tree on the bend.
The driver was found trapped in his vehicle in a critical condition. Provincial services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the patient in a 30 minute rescue.
Once free, he was treated and transported under advanced life support supervision to Mediclinic Bloemfontein for urgent treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known. Local authorities were on scene to investigate the cause.
