40 year old Nigerian National arrested by HAWKS with tik worth R600 000

Following an investigation into illegal drug activities, detectives from the Western Cape Directorate of Priority Crime Investigations (HAWKS) and Milnerton Cluster Crime Intelligence, conducted observation over a period of four days on the movements of a suspect and a storage facility where he allegedly kept drugs.

On Friday 15 August at approximately 11:50 the members executed a search warrant at the storage facility in Table View where 2 kilograms of Methamphetamine, commonly known as “Tik” and also Phenacetene, was seized. The estimated value thereof is R600 000.00. (Six hundred thousand Rand).  R95 000.00 in cash was also seized.

The suspect, a 40 year old Nigerian male (and a resident of Parklands, Table View) was arrested and detained for further investigation. He is due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Monday 18 August 2014.
