Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on the N3 in Cato Ridge this evening.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a light motor vehicle and light delivery vehicle had collided resulting in the light motor vehicle leaving the roadway and coming to a standstill down an embankment. The light delivery vehicle came to a standstill on the centre median.
Three people were found to have sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.
All the injured patients were treated on scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
