Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on the N2 south bound between Ballito and Tongaat in KZN.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that two motor vehicles were involved in a rear-end collision and was then rear-ended by a heavy goods vehicle resulting in two people sustaining serious injuries.
The injured patients were treated on scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
