Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on Rebecca Steet near Church in Pretoria West last night after 21h30.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that two vehicles were involved in a rear-end collision resulting in one person tragically losing a live and four people were found to be in a serious condition.
The four injured patients were treated on scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
