Tipper truck jams under bridge injuring man

A 51-year-old-man was injured this afternoon after his tipper truck became lodged under a bridge on Millward Road in Johannesburg West.

ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the truck standing on its end and lodged under the bridge.

The driver of the vehicle managed to jump out of his vehicle after the collision.

On assessment, paramedics found that the patient had sustained moderate injuries to his legs and back. He was treated for his injuries and thereafter transported to Flora Clinic observation for further observation.

The driver later told paramedics that he had failed to notice that the tipper of the truck had been raised. He had driven under the bridge when the vehicle had come to a screeching halt.

Local authorities as well as recovery services were on scene to begin their investigations.
