A truck driver sustained serious injuries after a collision at the M13 Richmond Road offramp in Pinetown around 12:30 today.
Rescue Care paramedics arrived to find the truck driver entrapped in his cab after colliding with another truck in a T Bone format. Paramedics immediately requested the assistance of the Rescue Services to help extricate the trapped driver whilst Advanced Life Support paramedics stabilized the seriously injured driver. Once he had been freed using the jaws of life he was placed on a specialized spine board to prevent any further injury. He was then placed into an awaiting Rescue Care ambulance and transported to a nearby hospital for further care that he required.
It is unclear what caused the collision however the necessary authorities were on the scene and will be investigating further.
