Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident at the Lindelani Robots on the Kingsway Highway in Benoni.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that two light delivery vehicles had collided with a caravan on the side on the road resulting in five people sustaining serious injuries.
The patients were treated on scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
