Sterling work by Mitchells Plain Designated Liquor Officers led to arrest of an armed robbery and attempted murder suspect. At about 13:20 our members were doing a routine compliance inspection when they responded to a shooting incident in Baobab Street, Eastridge. The members noticed the suspect and they pursuit him on foot. The suspect was apprehended on an open field near Tambotie Street, Eastridge. Our members confiscated a 9mm pistol with 8 live rounds. These successes is a reflection of the good co-operation that exists between the community of Mitchells Plain and the South African Police Service. The Mitchells Plain police management want to thank the various street committees and sector sub forums of Mitchells Plain who joined the South African Police Service in combating crime, further we urge the community to remain vigilant and to contact their respective Sector Commanders with information.
