Eight injured in truck collision in Kimberley

Eight people, including four children, were injured this afternoon when their vehicle was struck by a truck on Du Toitspan Road in Kimberly.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they discovered a light motor stationed on the nearby pavement wedged against a tree. The truck had stopped a short distance away.

On assessment, paramedics found that three adults and four children, aged 7 months to 7 years, sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. The truck driver fortunately sustained only minor injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients the patients for their injuries and transported them to Kimberly Hospital for further observations.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
