Kwa Mashu bus crash
Four people have been killed and 25 others injured this morning in a bus collision on the Bhejane Road near the M25 in Kwamashu, KwaZulu Natal.
When ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene, they found a wrecked bus stationed on the side of the road. The occupants of the bus were all spread around the vehicle.
Paramedics assessed the scene and found that three person had been killed while 26 others had sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical.
One of the critically injured patients required rapid advanced life support due to his severe injuries. Unfortunately, after 20 minutes of treatment, the patient succumbed to his injuries.
Paramedics immediately treated the remaining 25 patients on scene for their injuries. Once treated, they were transported to various hospitals for further medical treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
