Constable Koetepe and Sergeant Motikwe from Brackendowns SAPS received a call from their colleagues informing them that an attempted hijacking was in progress on the Old Vereeniging Road, next to Mamsago Caravan Park.
On their arrival, the officers saw a truck and two men jumping out of it. The two suspects started running away, the officers gave chase and managed to catch and arrest the suspects. One firearm was recovered from one of the suspects.
The suspects appeared at Palm Ridge Court on charges of attempted truck hijacking.
