A man in his thirties is fighting for his life after he was struck with an axe this afternoon. A report from the scene indicates that the man and a female were sitting behind the Library in the Cane lands area when the incident occurred.
Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedic s arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the ground with extensive life threatening injuries. Paramedics worked fervently to stabilise him at the scene and after he was placed on a ventilator, they transported him to an Umhlanga hospital for the critical care that he required.
