Delmas taxi owner shot at taxi rank, suspects sought

Police are looking for any information that could lead to the arrest of two men who shot and killed a 44-year-old taxi owner, Shadrack Ndala at Delmas.

The incident occurred on Friday, 24 October 2014, at approximately 11:45, at the taxi rank in Delmas, where Ndala was standing with two other taxi owners. Information at police disposal revealed that two armed men emerged from nowhere, fired several shots at them and as a result, Ndala was wounded. The other two managed to take cover and the suspects fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla which was parked near the rank. Ndala was rushed to the hospital however he was declared dead on arrival.

A case of murder was opened and no one has been arrested regarding this incident. Police urge any person with information to contact Lieutenant Colonel Muntu Mbatha at 072 359 3466 or Warrant Officer Thulani Zondo at 082 353 8873 / 013 665 6820.
