A man has tragically died and another was seriously injured in an accident on the R102 by the Verulam traffic lights. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the driver of the one vehicle trapped in the wreckage of his vehicle and had to be extricated with the Jaws of Life, tragically he died before the arrival of the emergency services. The other driver was seriously injured and after paramedics stabilised him at the scene they transported the patient to a local hospital for the care that he required.
