Eighteen people were injured after two minibuses were involved in a side impact accident at the intersection of William Nicol and Bruton in Fourways this morning.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found the traffic being severely affected as a result of the collision.
Upon assessment of the all the occupants it was found that four people sustained serious injuries and fourteen people sustained minor to moderate injuries during the accident.
All the injured people were treated on scene before they were transported to various hospitals for further medical care.
Traffic will remain affected until recovery of both vehicles have taken place.
