A man is fighting for his life and his wife tragically died in a shooting incident on the n2 near Queen Nandi drive this morning. Exact detail to the cause of the shooting or preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the female had tragically died before our arrival, her husband had sustained life threatening injuries and was in the vehicle. Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedics worked fervently to stabilise the man on scene and after he was placed on a ventilator and deftly immobilised on a trauma board they airlifted him to a Durban hospital for the critical care that he required.
