A forty-six-year-old woman is fighting for her life following a pedestrian accident on Bokmakierie near Daan de Wet Nel Drive in Dorandia, Onderstepoort this morning.
Exact detail surrounding the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation. However, reports from the scene indicate that the woman was crossing the road when she was knocked over by a minibus. The woman was flung into the air and landed on the roadway.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found the critically injured woman lying on the roadway.
The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured woman to hospital for the urgent medical care that she required. Netcare1 landed on a school field close to the accident scene from where the patient was loaded into the helicopter.
