Police bust suspects at road-block in possession of unprocessed Platinum worth R214 000-00

The Noupoort police busted a 30 year-old man in possession of raw platinum, worth R214 000. The suspect was driving a Silver Colt bakkie from Cradock, direction Noupoort on the N10 route. He was arrested at a road-block which was staged by the Noupoort police on Monday, 20 October 2014 at approximately 14:00. His arrest was executed after his vehicle was pulled off at the road-block, upon investigation and search a 25 kg of raw platinum was found hidden under the seat of the vehicle. He is due to appear before the Noupoort Magistrates’ Court on charges of Illegal Possession of Raw Platinum.

Furthermore at the road block on the N10 route, the police stopped a white VW Golf with three occupants inside aged between 42 and 49, and confiscated dagga worth R30 000. Two bags containing dagga was found stashed inside the boot of the VW Golf. All three suspects were arrested and charged with possession of dagga. They will be appearing before the Noupoort Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
