Port Shepstone police confiscates large quantity of straws of heroin

PORT SHEPSTONE DRUGS..

On 29 October 2014, Port Shepstone Public Order Police proceeded to a certain house in Merlewood, Port Shepstone during an intelligence driven operation and a 40-year-old man was arrested. 703 straws of heroin, 9 mandrax tablets as well as a certain substance, which is suspected to be crack cocaine were also found in the property.

When police continued with their operation they arrested a 20-year-old man at a local taxi rank after he was searched and found in possession of 21 straws of heroin and 1 mandrax tablet. The drugs with the street value of up to R30 000.00 will be forwarded to the Forensics Science laboratory for analysis. Both suspects were charged for possession of drugs and they will appear in Port Shepstone Magistrates’ Court today, 30 October 2014.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni highly praised Public Order Police on the arrests and seizure of drugs. “These operations will continue throughout the Festive Season,” she said.
