A collision on the M4 in Ballito has left scores injured this evening after a truck crashed into the bridge and overturned.
On arrival at scene, paramedics had discovered that a light delivery vehicle had collided with the side of the bridge before overturning, throwing its occupants from the vehicle.
On assessment, paramedics were relieved to find none of the patients on scene had sustained serious injuries.
Various services set out treating the patients on scene for their injuries. It was estimated that between 20 to 30 patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
Once the patients were treated for their injuries, they were transported to various hospitals for further medical treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations
