Four suspects arrested by Operation Combat for gang related crime in Elsies River

Yesterday afternoon members attached to Operation Combat responded to information of alleged illegal drug activity and proceeded to a premises in Eureka Estate, Elsies River.

At approximately 15:30 they entered and searched the residence in 42nd Avenue where they recovered three firearms and various rounds of ammunition. This included a 9mm pistol with two extended magazines each loaded with 32 rounds of ammunition and a standard magazine loaded with 15 rounds, a .22 revolver and a 38 special revolver with 10 rounds of ammunition. In addition thereto, they also seized numerous small plastic bags containing Tik, 2 scales and a substantial amount of cash.

Four men, aged between 28 to 45 years were arrested on charges of possession of illegal firearms and dealing in drugs. They are expected to appear in court once they have been charged.

Our approach to root our gangsterism in this province is progressing well and we will continue with our efforts to ensure a safer festive season in the Western Cape.
