Hundreds of car seats given to families in need by IMPERIAL Road Safety and 947 Breakfast Xpress

IMPERIAL Road Safety and 947 Breakfast Xpress help promote safety for children during Transport Month.

On Saturday, 1 November 2014, IMPERIAL Road Safety and 947 Breakfast Xpress handed over  are able to give their children the gift of safety.

The IMPERIAL and Breakfast Xpress Car Seats for Kids campaign is now in its third consecutive year where car seats are collected in October, which is Transport Month. This year, 600 seats were collected, and 200 were then refurbished and distributed to families in need at Brightwater Commons in Johannesburg.

“This campaign enables us to do this, as well as provide families with an affordable solution to strap their kids in safely.” Cronje also said, “We would like to thank our partners, 947, who drove this campaign on air, IMPERIAL Retail Logistics who helped transport and store the seats, and of course Peggie Mars of Wheel Well, who selflessly helped refurbish the seats for re-use. It is through this that we are able to really make a difference in the community.”

Station Manager at 947, Ravi Naidoo says, “Thanks to all the generous contributions from the public, we have managed to collect over 3 000 car seats over the last three years. We are all so proud that this campaign and we look forward to doing it again next year.”
