Photo after military vehicle rolled on the R24 Barbara in Isando

Yesterday a vehicle lost control and rolled on the R24 Barbara in Isando.

The patient put his hand out of the door to stabilize himself while getting out after the accident, but the vehicle was unstable and slid down the ditch and his arm got caught under the vehicle which resulted in a traumatic partial amputation of the left forearm and hand.

EMER-G-MED transported him to Glynnwood hospital in A09 with ALS RV04 on board. The patient was given fluids for the blood loss and analgesia for the pain. Medics splinted the injury and applied pressure to the wound.
