Police arrest an alleged drug peddler in Tzaneen

Police have on Saturday made a significant leap forward when they arrested an alleged drug peddler in Tzaneen.

The 38 year old suspect, a Nigerian national, was arrested during a joint operation by TRT, K9 and Crime intelligence. Police received information that the suspect was involved in drug peddling and early Saturday morning police pounced on his house. During the search of his house police confiscated 12 echany tablets, 2 cocaine rocks worth around R10 300.00, a scale and an undisclosed amount of money.

Investigations are afoot since police believe that the suspect is allegedly part of a syndicate that is peddling drugs in Tzaneen and Polokwane. The suspect will appear tomorrow at the Tzaneen Magistrate Court for possession and selling of illegal drugs.
