Police arrest 2 suspects robbing the person to whom they gave a lift in Rustenburg

A quick reaction by the Police led to the immediate arrest of two suspected robbers in Rustenburg North early yesterday morning. On Wednesday, 26 November 2014, members of Boitekong SAPS were patrolling around Seraleng township when a young man stopped the police and complained that two armed men robbed him. The complainant alleged that he was at the hiking spot in Rustenburg North when two men driving a black VW Golf pulled off and gave him a lift to Zeerust.
The suspects allegedly robbed him of his belongings that includes a cellphone, undisclosed amount of cash and  a pair of shoes. They drove around until they abandoned him at Seraleng township. The 23-year-old man gave the Police the description of the suspects and the registration numbers of the vehicle used in the commission of crime. The Police launched  a search and the suspects were found inside the vehicle outside one of the supermarkets in Rustenburg North. The complainant’s belongings were all recovered in the suspect’s vehicle. The suspects, aged 21 and 25 were arrested. They are due to appear in Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court soon facing charges of robbery and possession of suspected stolen property.
