Western Cape police arrest suspects for possession of tik after vehicle search

On 06 November 2014 at about 11:00 during an intelligence driven operation, SAPS members spotted a vehicle fitting the description of a Silver Toyota RunX which was alleged to be delivering drugs at Prince George Drive. The vehicle was searched and the police found approximately 1 kg of Tik with an estimated street value of R 200 000.00.

A 51-year-old man from Retreat was arrested and charged for being in possession of Tik. He appeared in Wynberg Magistrates’ Court on Monday (2014-11-10) and remains in custody, next appearance is on Monday (2014-11-17). The police thank the community for information that led to this successful operation.

Possession of Rock Lobster without permit

Yesterday (Wednesday 2014-11-12) at about 14:40, Steenberg police followed-up on information they received about a car dropping off crayfish at Ayre court in Steenberg. On arrival at the scene, they spotted the vehicle fitting the description of a Blue Ford Tracer with two occupants. The vehicle was searched and members found 437 Crayfish tails and 344 crayfish.

Two suspects aged 20 and 42 years from Steenberg were arrested and detained at Steenberg SAPS for being in possession of Crayfish without permit. They are due to appear in court soon.
