Eight injured in Randburg collision

Eight people were left injured this morning after a taxi rolled and collided with another vehicle at the Republic and Rabie Road intersection in Randburg.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, they found a number of people sitting in the middle isle of the road. A taxi lay on its side in the one lane of the road blocking traffic.

On assessment, paramedics found that eight people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

It is believe that the taxis brakes apparently failed, causing the taxi to roll and colliding with another light motor vehicle.

The patients were treated by paramedics and thereafter transported to hospital for further observations.

The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately did not sustain any injuries.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
