Fourteen people were injured in the early hours of this morning when a taxi overturned on the R70 near Rosendal towards Ficksburg in the Free State.
Paramedics from ER24 and the local emergency services that arrived on the scene found all of the patients outside of the taxi complaining of minor to moderate injuries. On assessment paramedics found that majority of the patients sustained mostly scrapes and bruises during the collision.
They [the patients] were treated on their scene and later transported by ER24 and the local EMS to a nearby hospital for further medical care. Fortunately no one sustained any serious injuries.
According to some of the occupants, the driver of the taxi allegedly fell asleep resulting in him losing control over the vehicle.
