A motorbike rider was killed this afternoon on Helshoogte Road in Stellenbosch when his bike crashed head on with a motor vehicle.
When paramedics arrived on the scene they found severe damage to the front of the motor vehicle with the motorbike lying several meters away from it. The rider was found with fatal injuries. Unfortunately there was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead on scene.
Two men and two women were found on the scene with moderate injuries. All four of them were treated on scene and later transported to Mediclinic Stellenbosch by ER24 and Metro EMS for further care.
The incident was handed over to local authorities for an investigation into the cause of the incident.
