Taxi driver trapped in vehicle following collision in Kloof

A taxi driver and his passengers were injured this morning when the vehicle they were traveling in collided with a tree on Willingdon Road in Kloof.

ER24 paramedics who arrived on scene found patients sitting on the grass close by. It is understood that the taxi and a light delivery vehicle collided with each other pushing the taxi into a nearby tree. The driver of the taxi was mechanically trapped behind the steering wheel of the taxi and had to be freed with the jaws of life.

Paramedics on the scene treated eleven people for various injuries ranging from minor to moderate. All of the patients were transported by various services to nearby hospitals.

Local authorities attended the incident.
