Two adults and a baby, about a year old, were killed in a head on collision in Dendron Road, about 50 kilometres out of Polokwane, earlier this morning.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found a bakkie and a truck, severely damaged, still attached to each other. There was a lot of oil spillage and vehicle parts on the road.
A woman and man, believed to be in the 20s, and the baby were declared dead on the scene. The man and baby were at the back of the bakkie while the woman was a passenger in the vehicle. They sustained multiple injuries. Six others in the same vehicle, all men, sustained moderate injuries. A woman and man, in the truck, were in a critical condition. Paramedics treated the patients and transported them to local hospitals.
The cause of the collision is not known. Local authorities were on scene.
