Approximately twenty-five people were injured following an accident at the intersection of Botha Avenue and D.F. Malan Avenue in Groenkloof, Pretoria this morning.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that two minibuses and a SUV were involved in this accident.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events are still unknown at this stage and will remain the subject of a police investigation. However reports from the scene indicate that a minibus rear-ended a SUV and then another minibus rear-ended that minibus.
Upon assessment of all the occupants it was found that approximately twenty-five people sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.
The injured patients were treated on scene and transported to various hospitals for further medical care.
Traffic was affected as a result of the accident as one lane of Botha Avenue was closed off and the vehicles were stationary in the middle of the intersection.
