Jaws of life used to free woman after road crash in Pinetown

A woman had to be extricated from a vehicle that landed several metres down an embankment earlier today on the M7 freeway in Pinetown.

It is understood the woman lost control of the vehicle and hit a barrier. The vehicle landed down an embankment about 10 metres away from the road between some trees.

ER24 paramedics and Fire and Rescue Services along with other authorities attended to the scene. The jaws of life had to be used to extricate the woman from the vehicle.

Once removed, paramedics assessed the woman. She was treated for moderate injuries and transported to hospital.

The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
