A man was seriously injured following a pedestrian accident on Main Reef Road, Selby after 13h00 this afternoon.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the centre median after he was knocked over by a VW Polo, while running across the road.
The man was treated on scene, immobilized on a trauma board and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Traffic was affected as result of the accident.
