A collision between two taxis this morning on Edendale Road in Pietermaritzburg had left 18 people injured.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found both taxis parked on the side of the road. It is understood that one taxi had rear-ended the other.
On assessment, paramedics found that 18 people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. All of the patients were found walking around on scene.
Paramedics began treating the patients for their injuries before they were transported to various hospital in the area for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
