19 injured in early morning collision

An early morning collision between a taxi and a car have left nineteen people with various injuries at the corner of Sydney Road and Moore Road just after 6:20am.

Rescue Care paramedics arrived on scene to find that the two vehicles had collided in the junction before the taxi overturned onto its side. A quick assessment was done and it was found that a total of nineteen people had been injured, three seriously so. More ambulances were called as well as Advanced Life Support units to assist. Once all of the injured had been treated and stabilized on scene they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating the matter further.
