A man was left in a serious condition this morning after he rear-ended a light motor vehicle on his scooter on the N14 near the R511, North of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics from the Johannesburg North branch arrived on scene and found the patient lying on the side of the road. His wrecked scooter lay a few metres away.
On assessment, paramedics found that the man had sustained serious injuries to his back and abdomen.
Advanced life support paramedics began their treatment of the patient, as well as providing him with advanced life support. Once treated, the patient was airlifted by the AER24 helicopter to Sandton Mediclinic for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
