Double Success for Toyota At This Year’s CAR Magazine Top 12 Best Buy Awards

South Africa’s best-selling car brand, Toyota, scooped not one – but two – awards at last night’s CAR magazine Top 12 Best Buy Awards held in Bryanston, Gauteng.

The Corolla Quest scooped the honours for the Best Compact Sedan in 2015. According to the CAR Top 12 panel: “The Corolla Quest represents incredible value for money, considering the sheer refinement and quality on offer in the cabin’s level of comfort and the engine’s smooth, punchy delivery.”

And, it would seem that buyers agree with more than 1000 Corolla Quests finding new homes in South Africa each month.

Kerry Roodt, General Manager of Marketing Communications for Toyota SA, is particularly proud of the Corolla Quest’s achievement in the 2015 Top 12: “With more than 1 000 individual models available in South Africa, consumers are spoilt for choice, but the fact that an authoritative voice like CAR recognises just what a great overall package this model represents, validates the impressive sales performance of this vehicle.”

The second winner from the Toyota stable is the Yaris for Best Redesign/Facelift of the Year. Launched in October 2014, the dramatically-styled new Yaris features an extrovert visage, courtesy of the new X motif which is becoming a signature design trait of smaller Toyota passenger models. CAR calls this, “one of the most transformative facelifts this segment has seen.. reinvigorating this model.”

Completing the metamorphosis of the new Yaris are under-the-skin refinements including a new thermally-efficient 1,0-litre powerplant and a revamped interior with quality materials.
