A three car collision at the corner of Leopald and Russell just after 6am on Sunday morning has left five people injured, one critically so.
Rescue Care paramedics arrived on scene to find that three vehicles had collided in the junction before one of the vehicle rolled multiple times. An assessment was done on the scene and it was established that a total of five people had sustained various injuries from the collision. One of the drivers had sustained critical injuries and Rescue Care’s Advanced Life Support Paramedic placed him on a manual ventilator on the scene. Once all of the injured had been stabilized they were transported by Rescue Care to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating further.
