On Thursday 5 February 2015, Gauteng Flying Squad received a lookout request regarding a truck which had been hijacked in Brandvlei at 11:00 and was being escorted by a red Golf. Members spotted the truck and pulled it over.
The driver of the truck attempted to escape and, after an exchange of gunfire, he was wounded and apprehended. SAPS members also chased after the red Golf and arrested another suspect.
