Head on collision leaves 13 injured in Durban

Thirteen people have sustained various injuries this morning after two vehicles collided head on, on Booth Road just after Bellair Road in Durban around 9am.

Rescue Care paramedics arrived on scene to find that two vehicles had collided head on. A quick assessment revealed that twelve people had been injured in one vehicle whilst the taxi driver was entrapped in the wreckage. The taxi had no passengers at the time of the collision. Durban Fire Department used the jaws of life and other hydraulic equipment to free the trapped driver from the wreckage. All thirteen people were stabilized on scene before being transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
