A man was injured after a motor vehicle left the roadway and overturned on Ontdekkers road in Witpoortjie, Roodepoort this morning at around 02h00.
Netcare 911 paramedics, its rescue unit and other services arrived at the scene and found the vehicle came to a standstill on its roof. The driver of the vehicle were partially ejected from the vehicle and entrapped between the vehicle and the ground.
Netcare 911’s rescue unit made use of pneumatic lifting bags and specialist equipment to lift the vehicle up and to enable paramedics to remove the man from underneath the vehicle.
Upon assessment they found the man to be in a critical condition and after treating the man at the scene, they rushed the man to hospital for the urgent medical care that he required.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events are still unclear and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
