Man killed in Hillcrest collision

A collision between a bus and a vehicle left a man dead and three others with moderate injuries. Two children aged eight and thirteen years, were amongst the injured.

At approximately 1430 this afternoon paramedics from ER24 Hillcrest attended the collision on Shongweni Road bridge at the N3 where they found the vehicle still wedged against the bus. Upon assessment they found that the driver of the light motor vehicle sustained fatal injuries. Sadly there was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared on the scene.

Three people, believed to be the man’s wife and two children, were found with moderate injuries. They were treated on the scene and later transported to RK Khan Hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the bus was not injured in the collision. The exact cause of the incident is not yet known.
