School children injured in crash in the Pietermaritzburg area

Earlier this morning eight people have been injured in a crash in the Pietermaritzburg area, this included seven school children.

The incident involved a minibus and a car, on Regina road, near Regina primary school, in the Pietermaritzburg area. An adult and seven school children were injured in the crash. Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services and several private ambulance services responded to the crash at around 8am this morning. The patients were examined on scene and found to have mostly minor injuries and were transported to hospital for further assessment.

The exact cause of the crash and the circumstances leading up to the crash are at this stage not known and are being investigated.
