One person was killed this morning when a truck collided with a bakkie on the N12 Etwatwa exit near Benoni.
The truck was heading onto the exit when the brakes of the truck allegedly failed, resulting in the fatal collision.
Over and above the fatal injured patient – the driver of the bakkie, three other people were injured. The passenger in the bakkie sustained critical injuries while the two occupants of the truck sustained minor injuries.
ER24 paramedics transported one occupant of the truck to Sunshine Hospital for further treatment. The other patients were transported by other emergency services to nearby hospitals.
