Fourteen people were injured following an accident on Francis Baard Street near Nkosi Mampuru Street in Arcadia, Pretoria.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events are still unclear and will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a minibus, a motor vehicle and heavy goods vehicle were involved in the accident. Traffic was severely obstructed by all the vehicles. The minibus overturned and came to a standstill on its side against the heavy goods vehicle.
Upon assessment of all the occupants from the three vehicles, paramedics found that fourteen people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.
The injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to various hospitals for further medical care.
